Greatly influenced by the work of both late Tasmanian wilderness photographers Olagus Truchanus and Peter Dombroskis and international photographers David Muench, Ansel Adams and Shino Maeda.
Dennis's primary goal as a photographer is to capture the spirit of the landscape and help people become more aware of preserving our natural heritage though the published image.
Every year Dennis publishes a selection of his best work in the Spectacular Tasmania and Classic Images Calendars.
"After many years of solo hiking I became aware that I was getting more from this activity than simply making good photographs. My interest grew in the metal and spiritual aspects that had attracted me to landscape photography in the first place. I knew that Landscape artists the world over relate to making a connection with their environment - a personal contact from within. We are inspired by this contact with nature and use our inner most feelings to make outstanding images. personally I find that by appreciating my life and my surroundings my vision seems to open up to more photographic possibilities."
